Mission Statement

Earthquake, a news magazine published by Germantown Friends School, is written for and by students in the Upper School and is offered free of charge to current and former members of the community. 

Earthquake serves as the editorial voice and news source for the campus community and is overseen by an editor-in-chief, faculty advisors, and a staff of students in grades 9–12. We are committed to respecting our Quaker institution and practicing the testimonies of simplicity, peace, integrity, community, equity, and stewardship. We aspire to publish content appropriate and relevant to the Upper School while maintaining high-level journalistic practices.
