The new resident rabbit who stole the school’s heart.

Origin Story
When a friend of administrative assistant Paula Busser found Ken on the side of the road, she couldn’t just leave him behind. She picked him up and brought him to safety. However, she couldn’t find a forever home for Ken and wanted to “[send] him to a ‘sanctuary,’” says Busser. So, she welcomed the fluffy bundle of joy into the GFS community—which was immediately smitten with him.
First Residence
Ken quickly found a hiding spot in the Main Building and served as a detour for students on their way to class. When students weren’t visiting him, Ken had free rein of Busser’s office, running around or cozying up for cuddles. By last spring, Ken’s fan base had grown so big that it was time to move him into a new, two-level “mojo dojo casa house” in Wade 104.
Ken’s Caretakers
Animal Leadership Club, a newer club whose goal is to “bring awareness to animal well-being,” according to leaders Emilia Cropf ’25 and Madalyn Shen ’25, wanted its members to get involved with animals on campus this year. What better way to do this than with Ken, the new high-school bunny?! Last year, the Animal Leadership Club made animal-care pamphlets for a local animal shelter, with information about adopting animals. This year, they are focusing on taking over the responsibilities of caring for Ken during the week—feeding, giving him water, cleaning his cage, and, of course, giving him treats.
Is Ken friendly?
He’s just Ken … and his job is just cute. Ken is often characterized as calm, friendly, and curious when adventuring in the science room (running around and climbing on everything!), and is just the “quintessential rabbit,” says Cropf. While he is shy around bigger groups, he is super cuddly one-on-one and in smaller groups.
Come visit!
He is only a freshie in high school, but Ken has already become a staple of the school community. His presence brings joy to everyone who stops by to say hello,“We’re big fans!” says Cropf.
